Steampuck: Frame Rate (update)

i have managed to fix the frame rate by adding a fog and changing the render distance to just beyond the fog so the player can not see as far as i would like but this makes the game playable

its now running at a steady 30 frames a second which is what i was aiming for.

  1. I added a fog effect to limit the player's view distance, which helped significantly improve the frame rate.

  2. Although the fog reduces how far the player can see, it makes the game much smoother and more playable on lower-end systems.

  3. I found that limiting the view distance to just beyond the fog reduces the strain on the game’s rendering process without affecting gameplay too much.

  4. The fog effect serves a dual purpose: it hides performance limitations while adding a cool environmental touch to the game.

  5. This optimization might limit visibility, but the trade-off is worth it for maintaining a consistent frame rate during gameplay.

  6. While the fog blocks out distant scenery, it effectively keeps the game running smoothly and prevents lag spikes.
